Welcome to the Gilchrist County Schools Department of Human Resources. We are responsible for personnel, payroll, retirement, employee benefits, workers compensation, and risk management. This page has been developed in an effort to provide teachers, support personnel, administrators, and members of the public with information regarding human resources and its related areas. Gilchrist County Schools is the largest employer in Gilchrist County serving more than 2,700 students and 425 employees, including 170 teachers.

All available vacancies are posted at our schools/sites, advertised in the Gilchrist County Journal, and posted on this web site (employment) as well as the TeachInFlorida.com web site. When there is a vacancy that is of interest, please come in to our district office or call us at (352) 463-3200 and request that your name be added to the list for that position. You must have a current employment application on file in the Personnel Services office.

Your completed application will consist of the application form, three letters of reference, diploma, transcript(s), and if held, a copy of your valid Florida teaching certificate. Your education and previous employment information must include mailing addresses. If the application form does not elicit all pertinent information bearing on the services you are prepared to render, please attach a separate page for this purpose.

Your application will not automatically be pulled for any position. YOU MUST CALL US AND ASK TO HAVE YOUR APPLICATION ACTIVATED FOR A PARTICULAR ADVERTISED/POSTED POSITION.

If you are employed, you will be responsible for the cost of fingerprint processing. Substitute and volunteer applications must include fingerprint processing in advance and prior to School Board approval.
