The health care
industry is one of the fastest-growing occupational areas in North Central
Florida. The Health Academy is an exciting program designed to
prepare students for employment and post-secondary education in
health-related careers.
The program includes integrated classroom
instruction, laboratory practice, clinical and shadowing experiences in
selected health care settings. The Health Academy is available to
all Gilchrist County High School students entering 9th grade.
All
Academy students must complete a four year program of study including
career and academic components. All academy students are required to
complete a career exit point and participate in patient care/clinical
requirements in 12th grade.
