The health care industry is one of the fastest-growing occupational areas in North Central Florida.  The Health Academy is an exciting program designed to prepare students for employment and post-secondary education in health-related careers. 

The program includes integrated classroom instruction, laboratory practice, clinical and shadowing experiences in selected health care settings.  The Health Academy is available to all Gilchrist County High School students entering 9th grade. 

All Academy students must complete a four year program of study including career and academic components.  All academy students are required to complete a career exit point and participate in patient care/clinical requirements in 12th grade.

Application Process

• This program is open to all 9th and 10th grade Gilchrist County High School students, with school-to-school transportation provided by the district.
• Complete an application for the Academy of Health Related Professions Program
