How Do We Accomplish These Goals?

We use the “Character First” affective education curriculum. Each month is highlighted with a different character trait. Each character trait is introduced schoolwide through news broadcasts at WBES and within the classroom. Our school celebrates the achievement of each trait by recognizing students from each class monthly. These children receive “Student of the Month” goody bags and get their picture in the county newspaper as well as being recognized on our morning show. “Character First” is not only a school program, but is also a countywide community program. Notice banners throughout the county to remind adults and children of the character traits that should be displayed.
