Graduation Requirements

The Guidance Department is there to assist students whether it is academically, socially, or personally. One goal is to ensure that students have the opportunity to meet all of the requirements necessary for graduation. Part of this goal is keeping track of all credits each student has earned. The guidance department works closely with the data processors to ensure that all records are received and entered in the computer system. Another goal is to help students with other issues that may affect their performance in the classroom.

The Guidance Department is responsible for most of the testing done at the school. This includes scheduling the tests, selecting students for the tests, keeping the materials in a secure place, and even administering the tests.

Must have 2.0 & All required classes for Graduation !!!

Electives

• All classes count toward the required 28 credits needed for graduation. In each 9 weeks grading period, each class counts as ½ credit – so do your best!!

• Classes may be taken out of sequence, but must be made up prior to graduation (i.e. Science, Life Management, Computer & Business Skills).

• All students must have 4 English Credits, 3 Math, 3 Science, 3 Social Studies, and one extra core class. Reading I and II will count as an extra English core class.

• Freshman Composition classes are classes taken through a Dual Enrollment Program with Lake City Community College. Entrance into these courses requires a sufficient score on a college entrance exam, a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, and completion of an application process.

• If a student is in the Business Academy, they are not required to take the Computer & Business Skills class. Their computer literacy requirement will be met in the academy.
