Shout out to the BHS Runnin’ Bulldog Track Program! We had 14 students go to Cypress Creek High School in Wesley Chapel (near Tampa) to compete in the Region 2- 1A Track and Field Regionals. Here are the results:
Boys:
800 Meter Run – Tony Yoder - 2 minutes, 06.02 seconds (BHS Record)- 11th place
3200 Meter Run – Ian Townsend – 10 minutes, 36.41 seconds – 9th place
Shot Put – Isaiah Ryker – 41 feet, 01.75 inches – 9th place
Discus – Isaiah Ryker – 104 feet, 11 inches – 11th place
4x800 Meter Relay – Tony Yoder, Ian Townsend, Tristan Townsend, Josh Mendoza, Rhett Rankin, Nathan Gray – 9 minutes, 24.54 seconds – 13th place
Girls:
100 Meter Dash – Kerrisa Grieves – 12.69 seconds- 6th place
200 Meter Dash – Kerrisa Grieves – 26.48 seconds – 8th place
100 Meter Hurdles – Savana Thomas – 18.31 seconds (Preliminaries)
300 Meter Hurdles – Savana Thomas – 53.99 seconds (Preliminaries)
Shot Put – Madison Carver – 29 feet, 03.50 inches – 14th place
Discus – Madison Carver – 91 feet, 1.00 inches – 7th place
4x800 Meter Relay – Savana Thomas, Melonie Piechocki, Haliee Haywood, Scharma Hendrix, Rayanah Mkuu – 10 minutes, 41 seconds (BHS Record) – 6th place
Not only did our teams do well against mainly private and charter schools, but Kerrisa Grieves, Madison Carver, and the Girls 4x800 Relay Team have qualified to go to STATE! The state meet will be at the University of North Florida on May 4-5.
