4-year degree $ 8.67 per hour
High School Diploma or Equivalent $8.10 per hour
Highly Qualified (Long-Term) $130 per day (This rate of pay is not for day-to-day subbing, but for pre-approved long-term sub positions)

**Important Information for Substitutes**
As a substitute you will not be considered a regular employee, and will not be eligible for regular employee benefits such as insurance and retirement under the Florida Retirement System (FRS).
The Omnibus Reconciliation Act of 1990 (OBRA 90) introduced into law IRS Code Section 3121(b)(7)(F). As a result, all employees who are not covered by their employer’s retirement plan are automatically enrolled in the 401(a) FICA Alternative Plan.
Under the 401(a) FICA Alternative Plan you will contribute 7.5% of your compensation, on a pre-tax basis, to an account in your name with BENCOR in place of Social Security tax deduction. You will not contribute to Social Security as a substitute. Please click HERE for more information.

Paraprofessional / Teacher's Aide Qualifications
The requirements to be a Paraprofessional / Teacher's Aide include the following: 1. High School Diploma or Equivalent; 2. An AA degree or 60 college credits from an accredited college or university OR earn a passing score on the ETS Paraprofessional Exam. 3. Pass a Level II Criminal History check via fingerprinting through the district's approved vendor. 4. Pass a drug test.
GCSD offers the ETS Paraprofessional Exam. The cost of the exam is $65.00 (effective 12/1/2015). Study guides are available.
