Title II: Preparing, training, recruiting high quality teachers, principals, and other school leaders
The purpose of this project is to increase student achievement in alignment with challenging standards. In order to meet this purpose, Title I of ESSA is written to include grants that improve the quality and effectiveness of teachers, principals, and school leaders, increase the number of teachers, principals, and school leaders who are effective in improving student achievement, and provide low-income and minority students greater access to effective teachers, principals, and school leaders.
Gilchrist County Schools utilize federal funds provided under Title II, Part A: Supporting Effective Instruction to support supplements that provide Reading Coaches for professional development. Professional development activities for teachers and principals are facilitated through this project, and tuition support encourages teachers to continue to be in-field, effective teachers.
