Gilchrist Relay for Life



The Gilchrist County School Board Office participated in the Levy/Gilchrist Relay for Life on Friday, May 7, 2010. The team raised over $1,000.00 for the American Cancer Society.

Bell High School Criminal Justice Competition



The Bell High School Criminal Justice students finished 2nd in the state losing to Pinellas Park by just 7 points. They did very well in individual events as well as teams. Many of the other advisors asked where I found such great acting students stated Ray Stoel. This speaks volumes of our community and our schools. We are blessed to have this calibar of students.

Gilchrist Schools has the highest graduation rate in the state



Gilchrist County has the highest rate of graduating high school seniors in the State of Florida, according to the Florida Department of Education. http://www.nefec.org/news0/692/

 

 

Teacher of the Year /Employee of the Year



Each year, the Gilchrist County School District recognizes a Teacher and an Employee of the Year. The program recognizes the efforts of teachers and staff members who dedicate their time to Gilchrist County students. 21st Century Students and Teachers Collect "Soles for Souls"!

 

As many of you know, there was a devastating disaster in Haiti on January 12, 2010. It was an earthquake that shook the lives of millions of people. At Bell High School, one of the 21st Century after school program teachers, Linda Lyles set out with a goal to help the victims of Haiti. Mrs Lyles stated that she and her husband were aiming to collect shoes for the citizens of Haiti. Click here to read more.
