Help

Attention BHS! Join in and help GCSD as we adopt the Jackson County School District.

The Gilchrist County School District has been in contact with Jackson County School District, who has been severely impacted by Hurricane Michael.  70% of homes are still without power.

Superintendent and school principals of Jackson County have shared a need for food items to send home in backpacks each day with the students. We will be collecting the following items this week at our school- non-perishable food items (i.e. crackers, granola bars, beef jerky, canned goods (flip top) but no corn or green beans).  In addition, they are requesting candy for the students for Halloween on October 31st

Items may be sent in with students or may be dropped off at the front office of the school.

Schools are scheduled to re-open in Jackson County on Monday, October 29th.  We will be collecting items this week and will deliver them this weekend to ensure that the schools are ready to send home the food items beginning on October 29th. Please announce and promote this each day and collect the items in your first period class. Explain to the students that if parents or members of the community would like to contribute they can bring them by the front office as well. Later in the week there will be instructions on how to consolidate for loading and delivery.
