On Saturday, Jan 26th, AP Environmental Science students went on a field trip to the Flatwoods Fire and Nature Festival, at the UF Austin Cary Forest Campus in Gainesville.
The students had the opportunity to witness a prescribed fire demonstration, interact with live animals, take a tour to different types of Florida native forests, talk to specialists from UF and visit educational exhibits. They learned more about Florida's forests and the role of fire in maintaining and enhancing their beauty, diversity, and habitat value.
