A Note from the Teachers to Parents!
Although this school year ended drastically different than what we hoped for, we greatly appreciate the time we had with your wonderful kiddos. You truly helped us make this year wonderful in the time we had. From sending in supplies, requested items for activities, to being involved in your child’s schooling: you were so helpful and we thank you for that! YOU help make our job great. As this school year comes to a close, we ask you to enjoy your time together, remember kindness, and stay safe. Thank you for everything!

A Note from the Teachers to the Students!
Your teachers love and miss you dearly. We are so sorry we didn’t get a chance to say goodbye properly as we closed out our school year. Please know, that even though you will be big 5th graders next year, we will always be here for you! Come see us anytime, especially at open house for a big hug to close out 4th grade as you enter into 5th grade. Remember, you are in charge of you. You can do anything you put your mind to. Don’t settle for being just okay, always try your hardest and do your best. We believe you will do great things in your future. Enjoy your summer, be kind to your family, and make sure to do some of the activities on your list. We can’t wait to see your smiling faces next year.

Elementary Assignments: Week 1

ALL Elementary Grade Levels

Week #1: March 23-27, 2020

All students are expected to read at home for 20 minutes or more per day!If you have an AR book, please continue reading it. If you don’t have a book or other reading material, please read anything appropriate that is available to you.

All students are expected to spend a total of one hour during the course of the week on i-Ready for each subject this week:math and reading. You can break this up in three 20 minute sessions or two 30 minute sessions per subject.

If your child does not know how to log in to i-Ready, we are sending log in information home in the mail. This information will also be posted in the REACH section of the website under the elementary (PK-5) link. Please note, i-Ready cannot be accessed on a phone – only a computer or i-pad.

If you cannot access i-Ready after receiving the letter in the mail, please email helpdesk@mygcsd.org or call 352-463-3200.

This week’s assignments are condensed to help you ease into this new way of work. Next week, assignments will more closely resemble what your students were doing in class prior to the school closures.

*If your child is on Access Points, he/she will do the same assignments for this week. However, modified assignments will be provided in future weeks.
