Gifted – Visit the Exploratorium website and do the designer ear activity together. Have student make several different ear shapes and then answer the following questions:

1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of changing the shape of your ear?

2. Does one design work better than the others?

3. Do things sound different if you’re wearing two different types of ears?

Gifted –Using the observation skills we have practiced in our school garden, find a section of your yard that you can observe. Make a logbook with a page per day. Take 5-10 minutes every day to record the usual information (Date, time, temperature, weather, etc.) Every day, record at least 4 observations or questions you have about the ecosystem you are studying. Over the course of the week, draw or photograph at least two animals (yes, insects count) and two plants that you have observed. Parents, please email or call me to get sign in information for our class discussion app. We will begin using it next week.
