Applications will soon be available for the state's new Reading Scholarship program, which provides $500 scholarships for 3rd-5th grade public school students who scored a 1 or 2 on the ELA section of the FSA in the prior year. English Language Learners will receive priority. Scholarships will be able to be used for tutoring, summer education programs or after-school programs designed to improve reading/literacy, or instructional materials related to literacy.
