Superintendent Rankin held a Safety Workshop with the Gilchrist County School Board and included Gilchrist County Sheriff, Bobby Schultz. Information was shared about safety procedures the school district has in place, as well as safety reviews that occurred in conjunction with the Gilchrist County Sheriff Department since the Parkland school shooting. Next steps will involve additional training for the Sheriff’s Department, as well as future training for school staff and students. Superintendent Rankin and Sheriff Schultz shared that the safety of our kids is their number one priority.
