National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, also referred to as Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day or Pearl Harbor Day, is observed annually in the United States on December 7, to remember and honor the 2,403 citizens of the United States who perished in the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on December 7, 1941.

On December 6, 2019, the Bell High School JROTC hosted a Pearl Harbor ceremony for fellow students in remembrance of the attack on 7 December 1941 . The flag displayed in the picture is a flag that was presented to retired instructor First Sergeant Jon Meinholz upon his re-enlistment at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The flag was flown from the USS Arizona memorial.

Since US battle ships are named after states, the cadets also displayed the state flags of the 8 battle ships in the harbor on the day of the attack; those ships were The USS Arizona, West Virginia,California,Oklahoma, Nevada, Pennsylvania,Tennessee and Maryland.
