Please advise: All GCSD Schools will remain closed Friday, September 1st due to impassible roadways and widespread power outages. This includes all sports and extracurricular activities. School will resume after Labor Day on Tuesday, September 5th.

Due to Tropical Storm Idalia and its impending threat to North Central Florida, Gilchrist County Schools will be closed Tuesday, August 29th and Wednesday, August 30th. GCSD will stay in close contact with Gilchrist County Emergency Management and continue to watch as the storm progresses and evaluate the impact in our area.

FCA HS Bible Study begins August 25th during HS Lunch in Mr. Sloan’s classroom, and MS Bible Study Begins on September 8th at 7:45am in Mrs. martin’s classroom. Donuts will be served at first MS meeting. See You At the Pole Event will be on September 27th. Meet in the front parking lot. Event shirts are $12.00 each, see Mrs. Hines to order.
Open practices for High Q begin Wednesday, August 30th and will continue weekly until tryouts. Grades 6 - 9 will be from (3:45-4:15pm) and Grades 10-12 will be from (4:15-4:45pm). High Q is Academic Team Jeopardy. See Mrs. Bennett if you have questions.
Girls Weightlifting - Monday, August 21st after school. Meet in Mrs. Lambert’s room to watch training videos. Conditioning will be Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30-4:30pm. Students MUST have current sports physical and their packet turned in to Coach Burton to participate in weight room.
Mark your calendars for our upcoming School Improvement Meeting where we work together to create and coordinate school-improvement initiatives. The next meeting will be held on September 12th at 5:30pm in the THS Library. We hope you join us.

Cross-Country eligibility meeting will be on Thursday, August 17th at the gym with Coach Burton. This meeting is for all paperwork to be turned in and grade checks, to determine eligibility for Practice the following Monday. All information is in the Cross Country Packet (available in THS Front Office). Try-Outs will be Monday, August 21st from 3:30-4:30pm at THS gym.
THS Back to School Open House will be on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. 6th Grade at 5:30pm in the THS Cafeteria, and 7th to 12th Grade at 6:30pm in the THS Auditorium.
Class of 2024 Senior Shirts available for order through BEC Creations. Cost of shirts is $15 each. All orders must be PREPAID. Be sure to order ASAP so that your shirt will be ready as soon as possible. **Seniors will wear their shirts on the first day of school! (And their senior crowns, as well!)
