Attention BHS Students & Staff!
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on all the things that we have to be thankful; there is always, always something to be thankful for! BHS would like to provide Thanksgiving food baskets to needy families, and WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are asking that if possible, students and staff bring in a food donation (listed below by grade level). The turkeys will be purchased through Scaffs with a donation of 2 cases from Scaffs and the remaining turkeys will be purchased by an anonymous community donor. Donations of food items are completely voluntary, however, we feel that this is a great way for us to “give back” and help others! ALL FOOD DONATIONS SHOULD BE TURNED IN TO YOUR FIRST PERIOD TEACHER NO LATER THAN THURSDAY, 11/20/25 to give us time to assemble baskets. Thank You!!!

The Purple Pinky is a symbol used to represent participation in the fight to end polio — a disease that once affected millions of children worldwide.
Purple Pinky Day: Many schools and Rotary clubs hold “Purple Pinky Days,” where students donate small amounts (like $1) to support polio eradication efforts — and get their pinky marked purple in solidarity.
Ms. Cobb, Interact Sponsor, took a group of BHS Interact students to Bell Elementary School to help with the Purple Pinky Project!

Red Ribbon Week is an annual drug prevention and awareness campaign observed across the United States, usually held from October 23 to October 31 each year.
RR week is designed to educate young people and communities about the dangers of drug, alcohol, and tobacco use and to promote healthy, drug-free lifestyles.
Thank you so much to the National Guard and to Mr. Robert Wells, Executive Director of the Gilchrist County Prevention Coalition for their commitment to a drug-free community, for their time, and for the merch!
