Bell Elementary School's Advisory Council is seeking members for the 2023-24 school year. If you are a community member, a parent/guardian, or an employee who works at Bell Elementary and are interested in serving on this committee or would like to nominate someone to serve, please call our front desk at (352) 463-3275 and leave your name and phone number.  We want and need community participation. We will be voting on the membership at our first meeting which will be held on Tuesday, August 29 at 3:30pm in the library. BES Annual Cake Auction

The Gilchrist County Prevention Coalition Farm Share Drive-Thru Distribution will take place on Saturday, 12/17/22 from 9:00 until food is gone. Location is at Trenton Elementary School at 1350 SW SR 26 in Trenton.

All GCSD schools and offices will be closed on Thursday (Nov. 10) due to the potential effects of Tropical Storm Nicole. In addition, all extra-curricular activities will be cancelled for Thursday only. School will resume as planned on Friday. If anything changes, we will notify you. Please stay safe!

Due to Hurricane Ian, all Gilchrist County public schools will be closed and all extracurricular activities are canceled for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week (Sept. 28-30). The afterschool program at BES is still available today, (Tuesday, Sept. 27) but we will NOT have Good News Club. The Special Needs Shelter at Bell High School will open tonight, Tues., Sept. 27, at 6:00 p.m. The General Population Shelters will also be opening, but a specific opening time/date has not yet been established. We encourage everyone to continue preparations for the storm, and we will post new information as we receive it. Stay safe!!

Free meals this summer for kids 18 years old and younger!

Good morning. We are pleased to announce that our internet and all of our phone lines have been restored. Therefore, you may contact any school or office at their published numbers. Report cards are currently scheduled to be ready for distribution on June 14 although we are not expecting most state test scores until much later. We hope all of our students, staff, and families have a wonderful summer.

Good morning! Out of an abundance of caution, Bell Elementary School will be closed today, Wednesday March 16th to continue the ongoing investigation. We will be open tomorrow, Thursday, March 17th unless otherwise notified.

Good morning, this is Jim Surrency, Superintendent of Schools.  Overnight, our school district received additional threats that resulted in Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Deputies sweeping all four school campuses to ensure the safety of every student and employee this morning. Law enforcement found no evidence of a physical threat to our schools and has given the “all clear.”  However, multiple agencies including Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Department of Law Enforcement are continuing to monitor the situation closely and are continuing the ongoing investigation to determine and prosecute the source of these recent threats. Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office has been and will continue to provide an increased presence in and around our schools out of an abundance of caution. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this situation. All schools are open and are being monitored closely by law enforcement and our district safety team.  Thank you for your support.

As many of you know, there was a bomb threat to Bell High School this morning which resulted in the school being closed for the day. I have been and will continue to work in unison with Sheriff Schultz so that all precautions are taken to ensure the safety of our faculty, staff, and students. Although law enforcement found no evidence of a bomb or any other threat and has given us the “all clear,” a thorough and aggressive investigation has been launched with multiple agencies including Gilchrist County Sherriff’s Office, Alachua County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office has been and will continue to provide an increased presence in and around our schools out of an abundance of caution. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we work through this situation. All schools will resume normal schedules on Monday!

5th Grade Parents: This is just a reminder that all Wonder Works field trip forms and money are due by March 2, 2022.
