Congratulations to Bell High School Senior Vicki Lin, who has been named a Commended Student in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation was presented to this scholastically talented senior student. Vicki was recognized for being in the top 50,000 scores out of approximately 3.5 million students nationwide, which places her in the top 1% of scores from across the United States.
"Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success," commented a spokeperson for NMSC. "These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation."

Attention High School students~need some community service hours? Join the Interact Club this Saturday, 10/15 at the BBQ From the Hart event! We need students to help run the Dunk Tank & Jailhouse. Please see Mrs. Ashlee Johnson (in Science Building) for more information and to sign up for a time slot.
Attention all: On Friday evening at the BHS Homecoming game, we will have a table set up for students, parents, and other community members to donate to the Florida Disaster Fund. 100% of the funds collected and donated to the Florida Disaster Fund will be used to help Floridians recover from the devastation of Hurricane Ian.
The Bulldog Growl will be in the Iris Roberts Auditorium on Thursday, 10/13 at 6:30 PM. Doors will not open until 6:00 PM. Admission is $1.00 for everyone, even those participating in skits. The 8th grade Prince & Princess will be crowned at the Growl.
The HOCO game will take place on Friday, 10/14 at 7:00 PM in the Boneyard. HOCO festivities and crowning of the HOCO King & Queen will take place during halftime. We hope to see everyone there!

There is a mandatory player/parent meeting tonight, 10/11 at 7:00 PM for any BHS girl interested in playing basketball this year. The meeting will be in the new gym classroom.
Picture Retake Day will be Monday, 10/17. SWI will provide students with a postcard the day of the retakes with ordering information. Students will also receive a calendar proof with information on how to place an order.
Good afternoon! The district is working closely with Emergency Management as we all watch Tropical Storm Ian. It is too early to make any decisions, but we will continue to monitor it closely and keep you informed as the storm progresses. Thank you!

The BHS Criminal Justice Academy will hold a Car Wash/Coffee & Donuts Event at the Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office (9239 US-129 in Trenton) on Saturday, 9/10 from 7:00 AM until noon. Coffee and donuts will be available for purchase and all donations are appreciated. We hope to see you there in support of our Criminal Justice program!
