Due to hurricane closures, the end of this 9 weeks will now be October 16.
The Senior Class is having a car wash on Saturday, 10/13 in front of BHS from 8-12. Please come out to help support our Senior Class!
Due to the conditions continuing to deteriorate and winds being strong late into the evening not leaving adequate time to check for road closures, schools will be closed for all Gilchrist county students and staff tomorrow, Thursday, October 11. Schools will re-open on Friday, October 12.
Activities such as practice and games can resume to their normal schedule starting at 3:00pm on Thursday, October 11th.

Superintendent Rankin is working closely with the Gilchrist County Emergency Management Team tracking Hurricane Michael. The GCSD will be taking the following steps to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and community:
- All schools will be in session today (Tuesday, 10/9) with early release at 1:00pm
- All school events after 6pm on Tuesday, Oct 9th will be cancelled
- All schools will be closed for students and staff on Wednesday, Oct 10th
We will make a determination about further school closures after the storm passes and we assess the damages. An announcement will be made by 6pm on Wednesday.
If you have not yet downloaded the GCSD app, this is a good time to do so. Through the app, we will be able to send you push notifications in the event of no power.
As a reminder, students are to be dropped off and picked up ONLY at the "D"behind the high school. Thank you for helping us keep our campus safe!
Just a reminder that Florida Gateway College will be at BHS on Tuesday, 10/9 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM to assist Seniors and parents with completion of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

Community Service Hour opportunity: Any Junior or Senior at BHS who is interested in helping out at the BES Fall Festival on Oct 26, please contact Ms. Karla at BHS to sign up. Football Game is away that night.
On Monday, the MS Ag classes learned about nutrition and health for raiding show rabbits. Jordan Olson received the FFA Small Animal Proficiency Award for Florida in 2018, and a Gold Status at Nationals. Her focus is breeding and showing rabbits for FFA . Our students were able to practice the safe and proper way to handle a show a rabbit for judging.
Our character trait for the month of October is LOYALTY. Loyalty is “showing my commitment through difficult times.”
The Bell Volleyball Team will have their Annual Dig Pink Event on Thursday, October 4 beginning at 4:00. Bell will host district opponent Mayo. All proceeds from cake auction will benefit Pamela Baker Powell and Christina Hunt Lopez.
